Beautiful bespoke character oak kitchen
Our clients gave us a brief to design and create a beautiful, bespoke kitchen that would add character to the extension of their traditional period property. The space needed to be versatile and open, as they enjoyed cooking and socialising frequently with friends and family. This part of their home wanted to achieve a sympathetic balance of practicality and aesthetics.
Their wish list included an American Fridge freezer, a Falcon range cooker, a large wine chiller, solid oak pilasters and a ceramic butler sink. Their choice of door was a traditional, character, in-frame oak, with rich warm tones. The design incorporated a stunning handbuilt mantel which would act as a focal point to give the kitchen a real ‘wow’ factor, along with the feature island; all this was combined with traditional quality specifications, such as wooden dovetail drawer boxes and the all-important ample storage. The worktop chosen was a stunning granite Verde Fountain which complimented the oak.
We met several times to discuss and revise the final design and costing, ensuring that we worked within the clients’ budget, whilst meeting their needs on a functional level. Once agreed, we met with the builder on-site in the early stages to confirm practical details such as lintel and window heights, and the placement of structural piers. We coordinated a schedule of works for all the trades involved in the kitchen project and supplied the electrical layout plan for the builder, to ensure all power points were correctly positioned when the installation team arrived to fit the kitchen.
The clients love their classic design, and feel that the stunning bespoke oak kitchen is a timeless addition to their extended space.
